Eligibility
Boys in the correct chronological cohort for Year 7 who meet the qualifying standard in the Entrance Test.
Score policy
The Entrance Test produces standardised scores and a rank order. The qualifying standard is not a fixed pass mark and reflects the cohort's rank order.
Oversubscription
Candidates with an EHCP naming Marling who have met the Qualifying Standard are admitted first, reducing the admission number. If qualifying applications exceed the remaining places, the order is: looked-after or previously looked-after children, including qualifying internationally adopted children, who meet the Qualifying Standard; Pupil Premium candidates who meet it; then other qualifying candidates by Entrance Test rank. For equal ranks, attendance at a Cotswold Beacon Academy Trust primary school through at least the December break of Year 6 takes priority; remaining ties are ranked by straight-line distance from the candidate’s home to the School, then by independently supervised random allocation.
