Kent said it would send its 2026 Test results on 15 October. Mayfield Grammar School, Gravesend has 210 Year 7 places for September 2027 and accepts girls assessed as eligible through the Kent Test or, if they also took it, the optional Mayfield procedure. A non-grammar Kent result does not cancel a qualifying Mayfield assessment; neither result guarantees a school offer. The school's 2027 policy gives Free School Meals priority within its named postcode groups and says the supplementary form must reach the school by 2 November 2026 when claiming that priority. Its separate Mayfield procedure section describes the form as required for Kent residents receiving Free School Meals, so families outside Kent who believe they qualify should confirm the form rule with the school. For September 2028 entry, Kent County Council has appointed Quest Assessments for the test sat in 2027. The council says its structure, timing and purpose will stay the same and will publish familiarisation material before that test. The 2026 test and September 2027 entry are unaffected.

1. Optional Mayfield Procedure (September 2027 entry)
The policy says eligible girls may also take the optional Mayfield assessment after taking the Kent PESE tests. It comprises a locally standardised computer test covering verbal ability, numerical reasoning and non-verbal reasoning, weighted 50% verbal, 25% mathematics and 25% non-verbal, plus a marked English writing paper. The policy gives the sitting date as 12 September 2026. Registration opened at 9am on Monday 1 June 2026 and closed at 4pm in early July 2026 (1 or 3 July); check the exact closing day with the school.
