1. Part I verbal reasoning
All registered academic-route candidates sit the GL Assessment paper. The top 325 age-standardised ranks progress to Part II.
2. Part II English and mathematics
Invited candidates sit two school-set written papers. The three age-standardised results are combined for the academic rank order. The determined 2027 policy aims to write to Part II candidates within four weeks, before 31 October; this is not an exact results-release day.
