Practise the 6 times table
Three practice questions first, then all twelve facts in a random order. Each one has six seconds and a three-second pause before the next, the same pace as the multiplication tables check in Year 4. Type the answer or tap the keypad.

Patterns that help
Every answer is even. When 6 is multiplied by a single-digit even number, the answer ends in that same digit: 6 × 2 = 12, 6 × 4 = 24, 6 × 6 = 36, 6 × 8 = 48.
Facts worth extra practice: 6 × 7 = 42, 6 × 8 = 48, 6 × 9 = 54 and 6 × 12 = 72.
If a fact goes missing: Use the 3 times table and double it. 6 × 7: 3 × 7 is 21, double 21 is 42.
See the multiples of 6 shaded on a hundred square, with a quick way to tell whether a number is one.
The 6 times table is one of the five (6, 7, 8, 9 and 12) that the multiplication tables check gives more weight to, so it is worth extra practice before June of Year 4.

6 × 13 = 78, 6 × 14 = 84 and 6 × 15 = 90. Each answer is 6 more than the one before.
Times tables are the base of 11+ maths
Quick recall of every fact from 2 to 12 is what 11+ arithmetic, fractions and ratio build on. The free diagnostic checks maths, English and both kinds of reasoning, and shows what to practise next. No card is required.
