  Stage One English and Mathematics marks are standardised, age-weighted and averaged to set the Stage Two invitation cohort. The policy does not publish a fixed invitation score. A 10% leeway applies to specified qualifying applicants living in the Priority Area. The final Combined Score is 50% English and 50% Mathematics; the English component is the Stage Two English score, while the Mathematics component combines Stage One and Stage Two Maths scores in a 2:3 ratio. Boys normally born between 1 September 2015 and 31 August 2016 must register for and sit the two-stage Tiffin tests, be invited to and attend Stage Two, and name Tiffin School on their Home Local Authority application.

English and Maths tests are standardised and age-weighted; the Combined Score is 50% English and 50% Maths, with Stage One and Stage Two Maths combined in a 2:3 ratio, and the published 450th-ranked Combined Score threshold applies to specified categories.

Oversubscription

After named EHCP applicants, ability-ranked places use looked-after or previously looked-after and Priority Area Pupil Premium priority, then Priority Area and outside-area applicants; up to 18 reserved places are for qualifying sport and music aptitude, with distance and independent random selection tie-breaks.
