Selection route

  • The Henrietta Barnett School 11+ assessment

School-specific assessment · The school says Round One is set by a nationally recognised body but has not named it. Do not assume GL Assessment sets the test because GL familiarisation materials are available. · The assessment has two rounds. Round One candidates are assigned a morning or afternoon session on one of the three published dates. The published policy and FAQ do not identify paper versus computer delivery or confirm a test venue.

The school ranks Round One candidates using the standardised assessment result and invites the top 300, including candidates tied at the cutoff, to Round Two. The determined policy then applies school-specific eligibility and oversubscription rules, including priority for qualifying looked-after or previously looked-after candidates, eligible Pupil Premium candidates in the Round One top 300, candidates living within three miles who sit Round Two, and remaining candidates by final rank. The policy gives no one route-wide qualifying mark.

Eligibility
Girls eligible for Year 7 in September 2027 must sit the First Round Entrance Test and, if selected, the Second Round test; the school must also be named on the Common Application Form.
Score policy
The First Round assesses verbal reasoning, non-verbal reasoning and English; shortlisted candidates sit a Second Round English and mathematics test, and final offers are made in ranked order.
Oversubscription
The determined policy gives priority in this order: qualifying looked-after or previously looked-after children; qualifying Pupil Premium candidates ranked in the top 300 of Round One; candidates living within three miles who sit Round Two, allocated by rank if oversubscribed; then all remaining candidates by final rank. Equal ranks are resolved by geographic proximity, then random allocation for candidates at the same distance. EHCP duties are addressed separately in the policy.
Registration
