Shared test group · Quest Assessments · Two paper-based multiple-choice examinations, one on each of two Saturday mornings, with separate answer sheets. The current school guidance states 40 minutes and 60 questions for each paper; the Quest candidate pack describes duration as approximately 40 minutes.

The common assessment result is considered separately under each school’s admissions policy. Both policies require candidates to reach that school’s required score; the policies use school-specific cut-off rules and rank candidates when oversubscribed. DHSG defines its cut-off as the score of the last candidate allocated under its main ranking criterion. PHSG defines its adjusted cut-off as five points below the score of the 120th child who applied in score order at the start of allocation, with specified priority provisions for looked-after and eligible Pupil Premium applicants. No single fixed numerical qualifying score for both schools is published in these sources, and a qualifying result does not guarantee a place.

Eligibility
Female-at-birth applicants born between 1 September 2015 and 31 August 2016 must register for and sit the two 11+ examinations and apply through Plymouth City Council's coordinated scheme.
Score policy
Applicants sit two selective 11+ examinations; the school uses the resulting standardised academic assessment to identify eligible candidates, and reaching the required standard does not itself guarantee a place when the school is oversubscribed.

GIAS does not publish the current test registration URL.

Who gets priority

No fixed catchment is set in the reviewed policy. Distance can still affect priority.

For normal Year 7 entry, EHCP-named applicants must reach the school cut-off score and are admitted first. Next come looked-after or previously looked-after applicants scoring at least five points below the adjusted cut-off, ranked by score; up to 12 FSM Pupil Premium or Ever 6 FSM applicants meeting that same concession, ranked by score; then other applicants by score. The cut-off is the last score allocated under category 3, not a pre-set numeric pass mark. Premium applicants must send the supplementary form and evidence to Plymouth City Council; eligibility covers current FSM or receipt within the previous six years recorded in the January census. Equal aggregate scores favour FSM Pupil Premium or Ever 6 FSM, then nearer homes by straight-line Plymouth NLPG distance, then an electronic random ballot supervised by a council officer. There is no catchment. The normal-entry waiting list runs through the summer holiday 2027; separate in-year rules apply from September. Staff, medical and social categories in the later section are in-year rules, not this Year 7 order.
