After the 2026 Loreto entrance examination
- Loreto said it would email results on or before 21 October 2026. Check your email, and contact the school if nothing has arrived. A pass means your daughter met the standard. It is not a place offer.
- Name Loreto Grammar School on your home council's Common Application Form. The school's timeline gives 31 October 2026, so check your own council's date. The school then applies its published oversubscription criteria, and a pass does not guarantee a place.
- The late examination on 28 April 2027 is only for girls who did not sit in September. Registration opens at 10:00am on 22 February 2027 and closes at 1:00pm on 12 March 2027. Places are offered on 1 March 2027, so a pass in April leads only to the waiting list.
Subjects and stages
- English
- Verbal Reasoning
- Mathematics
1. Main Governors' Entrance Examination
Girls registered with Loreto sit its separate English and Verbal Reasoning GL papers and internal Mathematics paper. The September 2026 sitting has closed; it is not the Trafford Consortium test.
2. Result and school application
Loreto schedules results by email on or before 21 October 2026. A pass makes an applicant eligible for consideration, then the school's Catholic oversubscription categories, Pupil Premium and examination rank apply. Families must also name Loreto on their home authority's separate secondary school application.
3. Late examination for non-sitters
Loreto offers an April 2027 late sitting only to girls who did not take the September exam. A girl who sat and did not pass cannot retake it at this sitting. Because initial offers precede the late test, a successful late candidate can join the waiting list only.

Scoring and eligibility
Applicants must pass the Governors' Entrance Examination; no numeric 2027 pass mark is published in the policy. Where a category is oversubscribed, Pupil Premium eligibility has priority, followed by higher examination marks and then the school's distance tie-break. Passing does not guarantee a place.
