Registering for the CCHS test did not apply for a school place. Submit a separate secondary application through the council where your child lives. Essex residents can apply online up to 31 October 2026, with online allocations scheduled for 1 March 2027. Families elsewhere must follow their home council's process. 1. CCHS FSCE entrance test
The test can cover knowledge and skills from any National Curriculum subject taught up to and including Year 5, together with Creativity. Read the school-published familiarisation guides for the format.
2. Marking and Creativity review
Papers apart from Creativity are marked and age-standardised. Applicants meeting the qualifying standard have their Creativity paper judged by a trained school panel. The admissions committee then sets an eligible score for the cohort.
