Two test routes, then a separate school application

The 14 schools in the Lincolnshire Consortium use the same pair of tests, which a child takes only once. Caistor Grammar School runs its own two verbal reasoning tests. A Consortium result does not replace Caistor's result. Check the relevant school's 2027 policy before choosing preferences: meeting the qualifying standard does not guarantee a place. Caistor's 2027 policy sets its separate score, catchment and place priorities.

Name each school you want on your home council's separate secondary application. For Lincolnshire residents, the on-time deadline is 31 October 2026. Families elsewhere should check their own council's deadline.

Questions families ask

Do all Lincolnshire grammar schools use the same 11+ test?

No. The 14 Lincolnshire Consortium schools share the same pair of tests, which a child takes only once. Caistor Grammar School sets its own two verbal reasoning tests and needs a separate test registration.

Does a qualifying Lincolnshire 11+ result guarantee a school place?

No. Each school applies its 2027 admissions policy when more qualified children apply than it has places. Caistor requires a score of at least 220 and has its own catchment and score-ranking rules.

When do Lincolnshire families apply for a 2027 Year 7 place?

Lincolnshire residents should name their preferred schools on the county council's secondary application by 31 October 2026. Families elsewhere must use their home council's application and check its deadline. Registering for either test does not apply for a school place.
